About George Karpacs

My name is George Karpacs, and I am running as a Republican candidate for South Park Township Board of Supervisors. My campaign is built on the theme of “One South Park!” — working together to strengthen our community.

With over 25 years of experience in administration across non-profit education, city government, and private corporations, I have developed the skills necessary to serve effectively on the Township Board. I have served as a Board Member for the Pennsylvania College Access Program, as a staffer in the City of Pittsburgh Treasurer’s Office, as an Enumerator for the United States Census Bureau, and as a postal worker for the United States Postal Service.

These experiences have provided me with a deep understanding of local and state government operations. I hold a bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of Pittsburgh and continued my education at Point Park University in the Master’s in Leadership program.

If elected as a Township Supervisor, I will be accessible, responsive, and committed to listening to the concerns of our community. I care deeply about the issues that affect us all. Together, we can solve problems, protect our community, preserve our open spaces, and proactively maintain the essential services and infrastructure that keep our community safe and healthy.

I am committed to preserving our parks, trails, and open spaces. Overdevelopment leads to traffic congestion and air pollution, and well-managed open space programs safeguard our community's natural green infrastructure. These spaces enhance our parks, provide places for recreation, and promote environmental sustainability.

Most importantly, I will focus on protecting our tax dollars through responsible governance and community-centered township services.
